Photographing red kites

Last Tuesday, the opportunity of photographing red kites presented itself … and I happened to have my camera and telephoto lens with me! I was ready! While conditions were not perfect, it was a chance to exercise capturing birds in flight; and it made me reflect on a mistake that beginners like me tend to repeat.
