This is a bit of a throw-back post since it is about an image that I took in 2022. But I love this place! … and the image is a good example to comment on the use of the dual gain of some cameras, in your advantage. The image turned out OK, but I was poorly informed about my new camera.

Photographing red kites

Spring 2024: galaxy season
This was my first spring with a fully functional telescope, and for astrophotography, spring means galaxy season. I never planned to shoot so distant objects, but it happened; and I am hooked! In this post I narrate how I came to photograph galaxies, and what I found out are the advantages and limitations of my astrophotography setup.
